Not every band is capable of performing at a wedding reception. An experienced wedding band has mastered the art of bring the party without being the center of attention. Nothing is worse than an band that thinks YOUR wedding is all about THEM!  An experienced wedding band is aware of volume, plays what your crowd wants to hear and knows how to work with your coordinator to ensure everything runs smooth and there is no dead time.  Here are some questions to help you tell the difference between true professionals and the ones that aren’t!

1) How many weddings have you performed at and how many per year?

2) Do you have any testimonials and Can we contact some of your previous clients for references?

4) Will you take on the role of Emcee of ceremonies as well?

5) Will you bring a wireless microphone that are we able to use for our speeches?

6) How much do you charge if our wedding goes overtime?

7) Do you require a meal? If so, how many?

8) If for any unforeseeable reason one of the band members are unable to attend our wedding, do you have a back up plan?

9) Do you require us to provide you a stage?

10) Do you have power requirements?

Always do your homework and research your vendors! If you can’t find any reviews on them or if they don’t return your attempts to contact them by phone or email in a timely manner, DON’T hire them!
