Wedding trends 2014, NOT!

So many online wedding experts contradict themselves! They say the new colors trending for 2014 weddings are oatmeal, cream and light pink, but at the same time the flower trend this year is vibrant gem tones. Well…which it is? Future predictions aren’t my forte but as a wedding singer I perform at almost 60 weddings a year and can make some predictions on what trends should be left in the dust! Here are my Wedding Trends 2014, NOT!

1) Succulents! Just like a succulent we can survive with little care but we thrive with tender loving care. Okay its cute! I get it, but this trend has became predictable. Maybe moss will make a come back this year!

2) Great Gatsby themed weddings, need I say more?

3) Rhinestone platform stilettos seem to be on the decline. Ladies, is it possible we are giving up style for comfort when it comes to our shoes, NEVER!

4) THE CANDY BAR. Now being addicted to sugar myself I love ending the evening with a take home bag of candy, but why not do something your guest aren’t expecting. Like a Junk food table. It is not for every palette but a bag of chips or snickers on the way out is never a miss!

5) Using “I got a feeling” for the Grand Entrance

6) Vintage photo booth! Can we put the curly mustache away people?
Even though photo booths have become a common sight at weddings it is another source of entertainment for your guests and allows for long lasting memories your photographer can’t get. Consider a slow motion photo booth this year!

7) Everyone knows you are a princess on your special day, but please leave the Tiaras to pageant queens and royalty!

8) If your looking for a color that isn’t play out, stay away from purple! I was the maid of honor at my best friends wedding last year, she chose purple. Aside from the dress being an obvious bridesmaid dress, I could have worn it to half of the weddings I performed at last year!

9) DJ’s are wack, Live music is back! Hiring a band will surly make for an unforgettable evening for you and your guests.
