Bridal shows are amazing…and overwhelming! For every vendor’s website you navigate through, there is a veritable team of people behind every wedding cake, dress and bouquet. If you’re prepared, it can be a great opportunity to get some good deals and gather some great ideas for your big day. If you want to meet vendors up close and personal and experience their wares with all of your five senses, now’s your chance! But, are you ready???
BEFORE THE SHOW:
_Create a wedding email address. This way any wedding correspondence will be separate from your “business as usual” stuff.
_Print up some small cards with: Name, Address, Phone Number, Email, & Wedding Date. There will be hundreds of drawings. This way you can pop your card in the fishbowl and keep moving!
_Prioritize-Create A Plan of Attack: What vendors do you NEED to see? Out of those, which vendors can only book one wedding per day? Visit them first since they’ll get booked up faster. Where are they located? What questions do you have for them? Write them down and bring them with you.
ON THE DAY:
In your tote bag, you should have:
_Name/address cards
_Datebook
_Checkbook/Credit Card-for deposits, in case you find a great deal that requires one on the spot.
_Fabric Swatches of your wedding colors
_Comfortable Shoes-Smart Casual is the look for the day
_Your smartphone-I know you’re not going to leave home without it but, use it! Take pics to jog your memory; from where you parked to that vendor that had that thing that was SO CUTE….what was her name???
Make notes using your notepad app. If you don’t type very fast, dictate notes to yourself using your voice recorder. This can also be very entertaining to go back and listen to at the end of the day after a glass of wine. You’ll deserve it! Once you survived your first bridal show experience, your vision for your San Diego Wedding should be coming together nicely.
