Fundraising entertainment | Pink Tea Fundraiser Oct. 6th 2012 | Bullhead City, AZ
On Oct. 6th you could find Undercover at two Cancer survivor events. One at UCLA in California (see blog) and the other this lovely event, The Annual Pink Tea in Bullhead city. Corporate Bands don’t make it to these parts much, but these events are well worth the trip. Breast cancer patients, survivors and supporters of the cause kicked up their heels Saturday afternoon to American Bandstand music provided by Undercover Live Entertainment during the fifth annual Pink Tea “Blast from the Past” celebration at the Chamber of Commerce.
The chamber’s event room was transformed into a hot pink 1950s sock-hop that was adorned with Elvis Presley cutouts, vinyl records and people sporting poodle skirts and saddle oxfords. Some women even took the outfits further by using bedazzled bras as head pieces. Performers took to the stage and sang oldies like I’ve got you babe and Twist and Shout! The crowd got worked up into a huge laughter with the entrance of an Elvis impersonator. Undercover had a blast with all the attendees and hope to be a part of their event again next year.

Taryn Schuemann, guest speaker of the event, spoke to audience members about how she would not be here if it hadn’t been for the support and assistance she received from both the Well Woman Health Check and The Comfort Zone in Bullhead City. This event is organized every year by the Comfort Zones own, Phyllis Anderson. She became heavily involved with the center after herself dealing with cancer and becoming a survivor. These ladies are extremely passionate about getting the word out about how important it is to have early detection of these types of cancers for women. And continue to spread a message of education and testing for all women cancers.
