Art of the Brain Fundraiser 2012 | Charity entertainment
Undercover was honored to be asked to provide the charity entertainment for the 13th annual 2012 Art of the Brain Fundraiser. This is a patient driven organization, celebrating art for those who have confronted brain cancer, either through their own experience or through a family member or friend. Art of the Brain, a non-profit organization under the auspices of The UCLA Foundation, held its eleventh annual fundraising gala on Saturday, October 2, 2010 to honor brain cancer survivors and supporters and raise funds for brain cancer research headed by Dr. Timothy Cloughesy at the UCLA Neuro-Oncology Program. Los Angeles Corporate Bands love to have the opportunity to attend these gig and be part of community efforts.
The outdoor courtyard was light by chandeliers in the tree tops, casting their light down onto the sparkling table linens. Guests mingled around and tried all the gourmet foods and desserts from those sponsoring the event. The event will be held at UCLA Schoenberg Hall Auditorium with the reception beginning at 6:30pm. Being that there were many cancer survivors in attendance we kept the mood light and upbeat. Playing hits like Saturday in the Park, Ob-la-di, ob-bla-da and Your lives lifting me higher. Carla Bosnake fronted this 4-piece with new player Darren Stafford. Darren, an accomplished pianist & vocalist, has been playing in LA for sometime under our radar. He has added an exciting new energy to Undercover and we welcome him with “open arms”. Please excuse the shameless Journey reference!
Undercover took part in two Cancer Funderaiser’s this day. The other was for Well Woman Health Check Program in Bullhead City, Arizona. We find it important to have the chance to meet the community and try to give back in the best way we can….music! Some find the power of music truly healing and some just like to dance, either way we did it together. Thank you to UCLA’s Art of the Brain’s efforts and Well Woman Health Check for all they do.
